Our responsibility towards the environment
The preservation of the environment and the natural surroundings of the Bay of Palma is a fundamental principle underpinning the management of the port. We work actively to reduce the environmental impact of our operations, prevent pollution and ensure compliance with current regulations.

We have specific systems in place for the separate collection and proper treatment of waste generated at the port and in the shipyard, including hazardous waste resulting from nautical activities (oils, paints, solvents and polluting materials).
We encourage the correct sorting of waste by users, professionals and partner companies, ensuring it is managed in accordance with current regulations.
We have implemented protocols for the prevention of and response to potential spills, with control and monitoring systems that minimise risks to the marine environment.
Technical operations carried out at the shipyard are conducted in accordance with specific procedures designed to prevent soil and water pollution.
At Port Calanova, we are constantly working to optimise energy consumption at our facilities, implementing improvements to our lighting systems, the efficiency of our electrical equipment and the port’s operational processes. We regularly analyse our energy consumption with the aim of identifying opportunities for reduction and implementing technical solutions that enable a more responsible use of energy.
We implement measures to monitor and ensure the responsible use of water at port facilities, promoting efficient practices in both technical services and communal areas.
The rational use of water resources is particularly important in an island environment such as Mallorca.
We foster environmental awareness amongst employees, partners and port users, promoting best practice and a culture of respect for the natural environment.
